Carol Ann Duffy was born in Glasgow and Drams celebrates the joys of whisky and Scotland. Duffy first read the poem at the Scottish literary festival Aye Write! in March 2010. To create this work Stephen Raw mixed his acrylic paint with whisky. The colours used for the artwork are reminiscent of the colours of the sea and sky in the northwest of Scotland, the browns of the hues of peat.
