During this special day pupils will take a journey from greensleeves to greenspace, exploring the world of Mary, Queen of Scots, inside and out!

Pupils will begin their day at the Palace of Holyroodhouse where they will visit Mary’s chambers and discover the rooms in which she reigned from before going to the Palace gardens to explore Mary’s outdoor life, and how the monarch used gardens for fresh air, games, relaxing, and also matters of state.

After lunch in the Abbey Strand Learning Centre pupils will then make their way to Holyrood Park where Historic Environment Scotland (HES) Rangers will help them discover how Mary used the Royal Park, from sea battle reconstructions to outdoor feasts!
